Anticipation

Going home today, yay!  It's been a nice 3 day work trip, but I'm ready to go home.

Yesterday I had a sprout salad for lunch.  For dinner I had sprouts alfredo and garlic bread.  I saved just a small handful of sprouts for lunch today.  I think I'll eat it with soy sauce sprayed on.  I love the Bragg's Liquid Aminos in the spray bottles.

I can't wait to see how my 6 trays of sprouts are coming along.  I have lentils, buckwheat, mung bean, broccoli, alfalfa, and a salad mix.  I hope it's enough to eat the next few days AND to take with me on my next 2 day work trip.

I'm due in early today.  I may stop on the way home to pick up a salad spinner.  I've been wanting one, and with 6 trays of sprouts growing now, I really think I need one.

Sprouts at Work

Back to work today for a 3 day trip.  I brought 2 bags of sprouts with me.  I still can't believe how well they travel, so much better than lettuce for a salad.  I brought ranch dressing, honey mustard sauce, lower sodium soy sauce, and alfredo.  Now I can have sprouts with whatever I'm in the mood for.

I have 6 trays growing at home now, instead of 3.  It's so easy, hardly takes any time at all to rinse them twice a day.  And it only take up a little space on the counter.  I'm using 2 sets of the Sprout Garden trays stacked up.  Love them!

Alfredo Sprouts for Lunch

Today for lunch I'm eating alfredo sprouts.  I heated up the sauce in a bowl, then mixed the sprouts in.  Yum!  The sprouts are a bean mix.
I'm rereading this book.  It's a very good book about the health benefits of sprouting and it details many methods.  There are a few recipes at the end.

Harvest Day

My sprouts are ready for harvesting and eating!  Today I have a bean sprout mixture; a 3 part mixture with radish, alfalfa, and broccoli; and alfalfa.

When I go to work I've been taking sprouts as my salad base instead of lettuce.  The sprouts hold up MUCH better and and they're so much better for the body.  The sprouts are a living food.

Looking for seeds locally

I  went to one of our local health food stores today to see what kind of seed selection they have.  WOW.  They are so much cheaper online, even with shipping added in.

I have sprouts that will be ready to eat tomorrow, yay.

Happy Halloween

It's Halloween afternoon as I'm creating this blog. I started sprouting a couple of weeks ago. At 46, with my younger sister recently diagnosed with cervical cancer, I decided it's high time to start doing something positive for my health. I am overweight; have high blood pressure; and have so many airborne allergies my ENT and allergist are encouraging me to start getting shots. But I don't want to. I'm trying to heal my body by eating better.
